INTRODUCTION: There are many things that came with the introduction of smartphones. You notes that if you own or use a computer, a smartphone can be used as one of the immediate transfer media. But sometimes the process isn't that easy and especially in the latest android phone, it may require you to used on of the tactics known to developers as the "Android debug bridge (ADB)". This protocol require activation of a functionality called "USB debugging". USB debugging in smartphones is a very useful tool in doing a lot of things for android users. It was meant for developers however, for someone familiar with android or android enthusiast, it ca be used to do some operations and I am one of such users. I am not a technician or a phone expert but I have been using it transfer files to and from the smartphone, install android apps and install custom ROMs to a number of phones. By default, this route was hidden from average users and you have to just look for it, once it has not been activated on your smartphone. There is no need of a PC to activate USB debugging and in this article, I am going to explain you how to do it.
STEPS
1. To activate USB debugging you have to activate developer options fast. By default, this option is hidden by developers. Go to your phone settings and in about phone. The option "About phone" is usually at the bottom of the settings menu especially in old phones however, in most of the latest android phones, it may be found at the top of the menu. Don't worry if you can not access it, just go to the phone settings and on top, find the search tab. In the search tab, write the phrase "Build number" and then follow the next steps.
2. Look around that menu and you will see the "build number" which will be a figure containing alphanumerical digits and this is where you will start from.
3. Tap on that number about 7 times consecutively. During the tapping, you will see a message showing you that you have x seconds to become a developer. You are not actually becoming a developer but you will be able to use development procedures as a basic user, to get access to the USB debugging protocol.
5. Go back to the menu and you will find the entity "Developer options". In some new phones it may be hard to see it especially in the latest android so, what you do, you can search for it manually in the search bar located on the to of you screen. After you have finished tapping on the build number and your granted to use development options then search "Developer options"
6. Open the developer options and turn it on, then scroll down and check the USB debugging. Sometimes you may be required to check your phone's screen to check the RSK key that pops up for first time users.
7. Done!
