MASAKA, THE OLDEST CITY IN BUGANDA KINGDOM: 
Masaka, one of the smartest and most organised City in Buganda Kingdom, and you find it after crossing Equator heading western part of Uganda.  This historical city attacked and destroyed twice in the previous century, lies in the Western part of Buganda Kingdom or province.  It gains it's popularity from grasshopper and white aunts harvesting and engineering activities in the early 80s and 90s and today following the provision of city status in 2019, it has started growing and developing at incredible speeds.  Masaka once used to be one of the biggest districts in the country in the early years but following creation of newer districts, it was split into more than 7 other districts now.  It was one of the biggest Districts in the country in the 80s and early 90s until when it was divided to make new districts including today's Kalangala in the Islands of lake Victoria, Lwengo district, Kalungu, Bukomansibi and now the new Masaka city, and the lower Masaka district among others.

Ethnicity:  Most of the residents of Masaka are Baganda and the most spoken language is Luganda.
