THE HUMAN RESPIRATORY SYSTEM:  The human respiratory system is one of the most important in the human body because it is where gaseous exchange takes place.  It starts from the nares of the nose, and ends with the alveola sacs deep into the lungs, in the thoracic cavity with some of the most common organs being the nasal cavity, pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchus and bronchioles and then the lung tissue.  In the human body, it is only in the respiratory system that gaseous exchange takes place.
